Are you getting as much out of your Formstack account as possible?

Truth be told, many organizations don’t realize just how powerful our data collection tool is—or how much can be done with it.

So today, we thought we’d let you peek behind the curtain to see how Formstack uses Formstack forms to simplify workflows and increase productivity. Our teams use Formstack for all kinds of applications, from processing HR requests to measuring employee engagement.

Here are three of our favorites.

1. Fast turnaround times on expense approvals

Our expense report has been around for a looong time. It’s simple and reliable, and lets the HR team process reimbursements quickly and efficiently:

Whether your employees do a lot of travel or host a lot of customers, your HR and finance teams have a substantial number of these requests to go through. Using online forms can significantly cut down on the amount of time it takes, both for employees to submit requests and for approvers to process them.

Once your online form is set up, any device can be used to collect travel requests, mileage requests, expense details, receipts, reimbursement information, and more. And if you use Formstack’s automated workflows, each request can be sent automatically to the right department based on who each approval should come from.

2. Streamline your most common requests

An urgent need here, a new idea there. Most teams receive all kinds of requests on a regular basis. For example, consider this common scenario: Sales asks Product Development to prioritize an enhancement after learning that several big prospects are looking for specific features. Product Development then turns to Marketing for help with messaging and promotions when the new feature is ready for launch. And when that “ask” has been completed, Marketing seeks assistance from the Web Management team to ensure information is updated across the entire company website.

At Formstack, we use online forms to streamline these processes, too:

From IT request forms to marketing service requests, relying on online forms has made it remarkably easy for Formstack teams to prioritize exactly what needs to get done.

Not sure where to start? We’ve created an entire series of request form templates you can customize within your own organization.

3. Keep employees engaged

Struggling to master employee engagement? Online forms can help with that, too.

At Formstack, we maintain a regular cadence of employee engagement surveys, employee reviews, and other online forms to track and improve progress in this area.

In addition to gathering insights, Formstack saves thousands of dollars each year that would otherwise go toward a specialized employee engagement tool. When creating employee engagement surveys, we use a variety of advanced form building features including:

  • The Theme Editor to customize surveys
  • Save & Resume so forms are convenient to complete
  • Conditional Logic to ask follow-up questions that are easy to answer
  • Automated calculations to create engagement scores
  • Workflows to help HR review responses and draw conclusions quickly

The process allows our HR and executive teams to benchmark engagement and identifies areas for improvement — all in a very seamless, reliable way.

These aren’t the only ways we use Formstack forms here at Formstack, but they’re three of the most important. Based on the results we’re seeing internally, we highly recommend using the above examples as a guide for streamlining and simplifying your own internal processes. And don’t worry, it’s easy to do: Formstack’s form builder has all kinds of built-in templates and best practices to guide you.
